To the west of the four lands lies the island of Morrowindl.

During the Heritage of Shannara series it was being turned to stone by The King of the Silver River's brother, Uhl Belk. EldwistĮldwist is a peninsula to the north of the Four Lands. There are only a few people who are known to prevail over these obstacles, and that is the band of fighters in The Sword of Shannara, and Walker Boh. The fourth, and last, chamber is guarded by the Valg and then later the Asphinx. However, the treasures are coated with a venom that kills with just a touch. The third chamber is the burial chamber of the kings, being filled with treasure chests, jewels, gold and such.

The second chamber is full of shrieking banshees that will gradually drive you insane. The sphinxes also use telepathic powers to force people to look at them.
The first chamber is filled with stone sphinxes that turn anyone who looks at them to stone. The chambers are filled with dangerous traps and creatures which trespassers must face. The Hall of Kings is a series of chambers that are said to be built several centuries before. North of the Dragon's Teeth is Paranor, the Druid Keep, and the forest surrounding it. In the center of the Four Lands, under no particular ownership of any race, lies the Dragon's Teeth mountains, where the Valley of Shale and dread lake of the Hadeshorn are situated. In the southern region of the Westland lies Wing Hove, the home of the Sky Elves, a group which has remained separate from the rest of the Elven Nation for generations. The town of Grimpen Ward, a haven for those who wish to flee their old lives with no questions asked, lies in the south of the Westland, in the Wilderun region that was also home to the elder witch sisters of the Morgawr. The Elves are mostly concentrated in the northern regions of the Westland, where their capital of Arborlon is situated. As a protection against this, it is actually important not to be told of the sword's power until after coming into possession of it.The Westland is home to the Elven race. In addition to this, the nature of the sword makes it possible to undermine the user's ability to wield it properly unless properly trained in the weapon. Unlike the Elfstones, which require a strong elven bloodline, it depends upon the specific ancestry of Shannara. The Sword of Shannara is an artifact originally of the elven line of Shannara. The Sword was used next by Bek Ohmsford, who carried it during his journey to Parkasia.
Par came to use it in battle with the Shadowen.

After again disappearing, it was recovered by Par Ohmsford whose brother Coll used it to free Par from the power of the Shadowen. Shea then gave it to the city of Tyrsis where it was kept in a vault for the next 300 years. It was later stolen by the Warlock Lord's minions but recovered once more by Shea Ohmsford, who finally managed to defeat the Warlock Lord for good. The Sword was placed in a block of Tre-Stone and taken to Paranor for safekeeping. As a result, the Warlock Lord was defeated but not killed, only forced to flee. He was unable to wield the talisman properly and could not garner the Sword's full power. Bremen gave it to the Elven King Jerle Shannara, who used it in the Second War of the Races against the Warlock Lord. It was first carried by the Druid Bremen. This is however not possible, the Sword forcing him to see and acknowledge this truth thus killing him. This power destroys the Warlock Lord since he is only alive because of the depth of his belief that he is immortal. The sword's power confronts any who touch it with the absolute truth about themselves this power has been derided as weak because "it does nothing but compel truth-telling". The Eilt Druin medallion was fused into the hilt, and the truth of Druids past was infused within the weapon. Rumored to be the finest smith in all the Southland, Screl put that to the test during the forging, and with aid from an Old World formula provided by the outcast Cogline and the magic of the Druid Bremen he managed to forge it. During the Second War of the Races, the sword was forged by Urprox Screl at the behest of Bremen. The Sword of Shannara is a well-known weapon in the Shannara universe with a long history. Bremen holding out the Sword to the dead.
